Yoanna House (born April 9, 1980) was a contestant on Cycle 2 of ANTM in 2004, where she was the winner.
House was born and raised in, Jacksonville, Florida; her father, a physician, is from Canada, and her mother is from Mexico. From early childhood, House showed great interest in fashion, which she claims was spurred by her grandmother, saying in an interview: "I was always in her closet. We would watch TV, read magazines, go to the mall. She taught me about couture and how important it was. A lot of my appreciation came from her."
After graduating from Bishop Kenny High School, House attended the University of Florida, majoring in International Relations and Asian Studies. Around this time, House also began to pursue a career in fashion modeling, but claimed she found her options limited because she was overweight. She says she eventually lost 60 pounds after changing her diet and adopting an exercise plan.
Despite the weight-loss, Yoanna was still criticized for her body throughout the season. She won the episode 3 challenge.
Yoanna was also infamous for her constant feuding between Camille. In episode 8, Camille and Yoanna decide to become friends, and after winning the go-see challenge, Camille even picked Yoanna to share the prize. However, Camille later told Tyra at dinner that Yoanna had an eating disorder, which made Yoanna turn back on Camille.
Yoanna eventually won the season.
Along with the IMG prize, Yoanna signed with 1st Opinion Model Management and Wilhelmina Models.
House walked the runway at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in 2004, for designers Petro Zillia, Custo Barcelona, Sue Wong, and John Sakalis. She was in a commercial for the "Declare Yourself" voting campaign and a cover story for Psychology Today magazine. She became host of "The Look for Less" in 2005, replacing Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The following year, House was named "the face" of The CW network, appearing in commercials and web advertisements for the fledgling network.
In overseas projects, she won a contract with Careline, an Israeli cosmetics company. She also hosted a reality television competition on the N channel titled "Queen Bees" in which seven 'mean girls' change their ways in order to win a cash prize.
Her son Alastair was born in August 2008.
