Whitney Thompson is an American fashion model most notable as the winner of America's Next Top Model, Cycle 10. She was the first 'plus-size' competitor to win the competition, participating as a U.S. dress size 10.[1]

Prior to ANTM

When not modeling, Thompson worked at Chets Creek Elementary School in the before-and-after-school day care programs and studied at Duncan U. Fletcher High School, and the University of North Florida.[2].

America's Next Top Model, Cycle 10

Thompson competed against thirteen other contestants to win Cycle 10 of America's Next Top Model. She was the 9th girl to be selected as one of the finalists to enter the 'Top Model house'. Half of the judging panel often criticized her performances and personality as being 'too pageant' and 'fake'. Despite being featured in the 'bottom two' a total of four times - more times than any past winner - Thompson also received a first call-out during the music-themed photo shoot. She also won one CoverGirl of the Week title, the last of her cycle. She won 3 challenges (including two with a team) during the competition.

Although she is naturally a brunette, Thompson received a blonde hair weave for her makeover on the show.

Career

Before her appearance on the show, Thompson had been on the cover of Jacksonville magazine three times[3].

As part of the prize package awarded to her, Thompson received a contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics cosmetics and a contract from Elite Model Management. She will also have a cover and six-page editorial spread in the July 2008 issue of Seventeen Magazine. Thompson's CoverGirl contract includes a U.S. national TV commercial, print advertising, and a billboard in Times Square. Thompson is the third out of four Top Model alumna to receive this honor, after Eugena Washington, second runner-up on Cycle 7 and Jaslene Gonzalez, winner of but before Katarzyna Dolinska[4] from the same cycle as Thompson.

Thompson has featured in interviews with People Magazine[5] and in the June 2008 issue of In Touch[5].

After her win, Whitney Thompson appeared on the following shows: Live with Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight, Extra and The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch
