Andrea N. Phan, better known as Shei Phan, was a contestant on cycle 21 of ANTM in 2014. She was the eleventh model eliminated and placed fifth overall.

Early Life

Shei was born to an Irish and Native American mother and Vietnamese father, and is the only girl among four brothers. Her father left when she was three, and the time she spoke to him was when she was ten.

She began modeling at nineteen years old while being a sophomore at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was discovered by “Project Runway” alumni Johnathan Kayne. She was with her friend Renee Bhagwandeen at the cycle 20 finale party in New York, and a producer convinced her to apply for cycle 21.

ANTM

Shei stated she worked as a go-go dancer in auditions. She was the twelfth model called to the final cast. In episode four, she received one of the most dramatic makeovers in ANTM history. She had one side of her hair and one eyebrow dyed black, and the other side and brow ice blonde.

While she never placed in the bottom two until her elimination, she was usually negatively critiqued for being too sexy. In episode seven, she was paired with Denzel for the acting challenge, which involved a kissing scene. Mirjana was jealous, and Denzel won the challenge. In episode nine, she booked the most shows as the go-sees, and won the challenge.

She was one of the most vocal in confessional when Chantelle returned in episode ten. She also caught feelings for Adam around this time. She, along with Lenox and Will, called out Chantelle for lying at judging about changing her hair and make-up during shoots. She was eliminated in episode fourteen over Lenox due to her average Marilyn Monroe photo.

Post-Show

After the show, Shei signed to Fenton Moon Models, and is currently signed to The Tabb Agency as of 2022. She was in the magazines Nu-Mode, Shang, The Beaute Book, Vigore, Runway, Jute, So6ix, Vanichi, Los Angeles Firm Inc, Ellements, Desnudo, Fa, Trend Prive, Soyyo, In Black, One Hyped, and Rendezvous.

She was a model for the third season of "Project Runway: All Stars" and she walked on "Project Runway Junior."

In addition to modeling, she is pursuing an art career. She currently sells a line of paintings, hats, crowns, accessories, and shoes called Pandanation.

Legacy

Her makeover ranked number nine on MsMojo's YouTube video "Top 20 Worst America's Next Top Model Makeovers".

• Shei is the second Vietnamese girl to compete on ANTM. She is after Jennifer An.
• Shei is the highest-placing model in Cycle 21 that was eliminated in her first bottom two.
