Mariah Monique Watchman was a contestant on cycle 18 of ANTM in 2012. She was the second girl eliminated and placed thirteenth.

Early Life[]

Mariah grew up on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. She graduated from Nixyaawii Community High School in 2009. She started modeling at 15 years old, signing with a Medford-based agency.[1][2] She was in the May 2010 issue of Seventeen.[3]

ANTM[]

Mariah was known for proudly being the first ever Native American contestant on the show. She had to portray Pocahontas for the US vs. UK Icons photoshoot. Her styling drew criticism from the Native American community, calling it stereotypical and offensive.[4]

In episode two, she was worried that her hair would be cut at makeovers. Alisha then said that she doesn't think there are any Native Americans in Britain. Later, she compared her, Eboni and Kyle for having the same makeover, but she forgot Mariah's name. She was put in the bottom two for her lackluster photo, and eliminated over Seymone for not being as memorable.
