India Kate Gants was a contestant on cycle 23 of ANTM in 2016, where she was crowned the winner.
Early Life[]
India was born in Seattle, Washington and has three younger siblings. She graduated from Newport High School in 2014. She was working as a bridal consultant before auditioning for the show.[1]
She started modeling when she was sixteen years old. Before the show, she modeled for the magazines Bisous, DList, Ellements, Gilt, Seattle Met Bride, B-Authentique, Glamour UK, Her World Brides, HUF, Institute, Jute, Seattle Bride, The Alchemist and Elegant. She worked for ASbyDF, ATEN Yoga, Azade, Colette Sol, Euro Como, Justin Zachary Couture, Karsdadt, L'Oreal Greece, MAKI Philosophy, Panicale Cashmere, Represent Clo, Sarah Loertscher Jewelry, Shu Uemura Gallery, Singapore Brides, The True Heart Collection by Balmain X H&M, Union Bay, Volare Cosmetics, VY Sunglasses, Who Wore What When and Winston White Clothing.[2]
ANTM[]
India was best known since auditions for her striking resemblance to Gigi Hadid. She was the fourth girl called to the final cast. In episode three, she received a lavender pink color for makeovers. Later, she worried about posing nude with other girls at the photoshoot. She eventually decides to do it and excels. In episode six, she struggled during the sport shoot with Chanel Iman, and placed in the bottom three. She immediately redeemed herself at the Gypsy Sport videoshoot and won her first best photo.
She won her second first call-out in the comeback week for her strong music video. In episode ten, she tied with Tash for best photo in the celebrity impersonations shoot. In episode eleven, Courtney chose her to share the Universal Studios prize, as India was her only good friend in the house. In episode twelve, she defended Courtney from the other girls after she won the acting challenge.
She won the last two first call-outs for the beauty transformation videoshoot and the Rimmel London commercial. She defeated Tatiana in the finale because most of the judges thought she was more versatile.
