Joan Ann Sprague, née Dodds (born September 20 1981 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania), better known as Joanie Dodds, was a contestant on cycle 6 of ANTM in 2006, where she was the runner-up.

Early Life[]

Joanie attended The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio where she was a business major.

ANTM[]

Arriving at casting, Joanie announced she was a rebellious preacher's daughter who even did nights at a strip club. She was known for her quirky humor and her dislike for fellow contestant Jade. In the opening of the finale episode, a clip of her saying "Please send Jade home" is shown. While not known for having any animosity face-to-face with the other contestants, she did speak about being annoyed with Sara for copying her poses in a photoshoot in Thailand done atop an elephant.

From the beginning of the season, the panel praised her for being so photogenic, as Tyra noted, "Joanie can't take a bad picture". Despite the glowing reports, she was also criticized by the panel for her in-person presence. The judges felt that Joanie lacked the personal presence of her final competitor, Danielle, and she was thus named runner-up. According to Dodds, "The best girl won."

Joanie later was one of the alumni featured in the America's Next Top Model: Exposed special. She made a cameo as a cheerleader in the first episode of cycle 10, with Furonda, Michelle and Amanda from cycle 7, and Jael from cycle 8.
