Cycle 1 of Australia's Next Top Model premiered on FOX8 on January 11, 2005, and concluded on March 1, 2005. The judging panel featured Erika Heynatz as host, with Alex Perry, Marguerite Kramer and Ken Thompson as main judges.
The winner of the competition was 22 year-old Gemma Sanderson from Newcastle.

- This is the second English language Top Model series in the franchise, after the original American version. This is also the third Top Model series in general after Russia.
- This is the first season in the Top Model franchise where a girl quits on her own accord.
- Just like in America, this is the only Australian cycle to feature just 10 girls. All future cycles would have twelve or more.
